Outdoor Games for Rental Businesses

A rental fleet is bought once and hired out for years. We build wooden outdoor games for rental and party hire companies: regulation cornhole boards, all-weather bags and nine yard game lines, finished so they still look presentable on the four hundredth hire.

Direct answer

Waffle Games is a Chinese manufacturer of wooden outdoor games for rental businesses. Rental operators buy from us for three reasons: boards and bags that survive being hired out week after week, a fleet that carries their own logo instead of a generic design, and a minimum order that starts at 100 sets rather than a container load. The range covers cornhole boards in regulation 4 x 2 ft and tailgate 3 x 2 ft sizes, cornhole bags in 8 to 16 oz duck cloth, and nine wooden yard game lines including giant tumble tower, giant 4 in a row, ring toss, ladder golf, yard dice, kubb, croquet, washer toss and Molkky. Minimum order is 100 sets including your artwork and packaging. Production runs 25 to 40 days after artwork sign-off, shipping FOB Ningbo or DDP to your warehouse.

What a hire fleet actually needs

Rental stock is bought on a different set of criteria from retail stock. Four things decide whether a fleet pays for itself.

Survives the van, not the shelf

3/4 in cabinet grade birch plywood and 18 mm competition grade decks, glued and finished on a sealed edge so a board does not swell after a wet weekend. Legs, hinges and the printed face are the three parts that fail first on cheap stock.

Bags you can re-order on their own

Bags wear out faster than boards. 6 x 6 in duck cloth in 8, 12 and 16 oz fills, supplied in bulk sets of eight so you can refresh a fleet without replacing the boards with it.

Your logo on every piece

UV printed artwork or laser engraving, Pantone matched. A branded fleet is harder for a customer to buy around and easier for you to photograph and resell on the next season.

A range, not one game

Nine yard game lines in the same timber and finish, so a single hire package can cover a wedding, a school fete and a corporate away day without looking like five different suppliers were used.

The games rental companies order most

Every line below is made in the same plant and can be ordered in the same shipment. Counts shown are how many models each line currently has.

Cornhole boards

Regulation 4 x 2 ft, tailgate 3 x 2 ft and junior sizes, in birch, pine, beech or black walnut. The single most requested hire item in US rental.

Giant tumble tower

Oversized timber blocks, supplied with a carry crate. High perceived value per hire and it photographs well, which matters for your own marketing.

Giant 4 in a row

All-weather frame and discs, the second most ordered hire game after cornhole. Available in different frame sizes and colourways.

Ring toss and quoits

Rope and rubber rings on a hardwood base. Nothing to break, nothing to lose, and it works on grass or indoors.

6 models

Ladder golf

Folding ball ladder sets with bolas. Packs flat, which means more games per van on a delivery round.

Giant yard dice

Oversized wooden dice with a score sheet, from a single set up to six dice. Low unit cost for a high visual impact add-on.

6 models

Kubb

Swedish block game on a rubberwood set. A good differentiator when a customer has already hired cornhole twice.

6 models

Croquet

28 in hardwood mallets, eight player sets. Sells to the same customer as a wedding or a garden party package.

Washer toss

Solid board game with metal washers. Heavier than cornhole, so it stays put in wind and needs no bags replaced.

Built for repeat use, not for a shelf

Where cheap hire stock fails

A retail board gets played with a few times a season. A rental board gets loaded, stacked, rained on and handed to a stranger, then does it again next weekend.

  • Deck material: 3/4 in cabinet grade birch plywood for retail stock and 18 mm competition grade for league play. Edges are sealed so moisture does not get into the core.
  • Machining: five CNC routers holding tolerance to 0.1 mm, so hole positions and leg angles repeat from one production run to the next. A spare board from order two matches order one.
  • Printed face: three UV direct print lines printing into the timber fibre rather than onto a film, so artwork does not lift at the edges after handling.
  • Finish: every deck hand sanded and clear coated, which is what keeps a fleet from feeling rough to a paying customer.
  • Repairable parts: bags, fasteners and carry cases are all supplied separately, so a fleet is maintained rather than written off.

Rental buyer questions

Can we order a mixed fleet rather than 100 of one game?
Yes. The 100-set minimum applies to the order, not to each model. A first order might be 40 cornhole sets, 30 giant 4 in a row, 20 tumble towers and 10 ring toss sets, all shipped together. Each model has its own minimum, listed on its product page.
Do you print our own logo on the boards and the bags?
Yes. Send artwork as a vector file, or a logo and a Pantone reference, and we return a digital mockup within 24 hours before anything is produced. Boards are UV printed or laser engraved, and bags are printed to match. There is no separate setup charge added to the quotation unless the artwork needs redrawing, which we will tell you before we start.
Can we buy replacement bags without new boards?
Yes, and most rental customers do. Bags are supplied as a bulk product in sets of eight, in 8, 12 and 16 oz fills, in duck cloth. Order them on their own or add them to a board order.
How do you handle shipping and duty?
FOB Ningbo for buyers who have their own freight forwarder, or DDP to your door for buyers who would rather not handle customs. On DDP terms we clear the shipment and pay the duty, and deliver to your warehouse or an Amazon fulfilment centre.
What is the lead time if we order before our season starts?
Production runs 25 to 40 days after artwork sign-off, and sampling adds 3 to 7 days if you want a physical sample first. For a summer rental season, place the order four to six weeks before you need the stock in hand.
Do the games meet US safety rules?
Our cornhole sets and large tumbling timbers were tested to ASTM F963-23, CPSIA, 16 CFR 1500 and 1501 and California Proposition 65 at a CPSC-accepted laboratory, and both passed. Full report numbers and the audit detail are on the certifications page.
